Blockhead Bash IV
Blockhead Bash IV was the last practice tournament that we would be participating in for our FLL season. The first thing that we did was the Project. Our whole team did a good job presenting our project and we answered the judges question’s with ease. After that, we had two practice rounds with Ricky and William on the board. On the first round we got 203, and we got 220 on the second round. After our first two practices everyone went out to eat lunch. However, we were supposed to be testing for core values, so while we ate, we were being asked questions. In my opinion, we did okay. The only reason I would think otherwise is due to the fact some people were too busy eating and didn't answer any questions. Our final practice was at 11:48, after which we also did out robot design. Despite scoring a poor 143 points on our last run, we did pretty well explaining how our robot functions. The judge suggested that next time we put annotations with our programs to make it easier to understand. The team got a one hour break between robot design and the first round so we either relaxed or tried to improve on the robot. In the first round, we scored a tournament high of 255. After that however, in round 2 and 3, we scored a measly 100 and 110 points. We later recovered in round 4 gaining 220 points. After that, the tournament was over and we had placed in the top 20% in robot game. During award time we won the big project award, which was Presentation. Overall, this was one of the more successful competitions.
