FLL Cup Invitational at Legoland
As being drafted to the FLL team late throughout the season, it gave me more experience on how robotics competition works. Going to Legoland to compete for the FLL cup was an excitement; not only did we compete but we also had a chance to ride rides at Legoland. Before we went to Legoland to compete, we were asked to design a robot that will complete simple tasks on a board that maps out challenges senior citizens have at their home. We were also asked to construct a core values poster that is judged on: What challenges the team faced throughout the year? What did Gracious Professionalism help the team throughout the year? Not only did I have fun at Legoland, but I also had a chance to run on the board and compete with other teams within our region for a chance to win. Our goal was to complete as many tasks as possible within a time frame of two-minutes and thirty-seconds. Each team must have designed a robot that could fit within the base of the board which is. At the tournament, two robot game fields were set side by side, with a total of four matches at play. Our guesstimated scores were respectively: 170, 180, 265, and 280. Overall, we placed sixth in the Robot Game. Other than the Robot Game, we had Core Values judging. After the first round of Core Values judging, we were one of several teams to be called back. At the end of the day, the championship prize went to us, a trophy made out of legos.
