LA Regional Championship
When we entered the competition at the L.A.Regional Competition, we were at the high water mark of our season. Everyone felt pretty confident in our team when we first walked in, even when we saw that competition looked tough. In this event, we had to present our Project to our competitors. We took turns presenting while most of us walked around meeting new people. Most of the projects we saw were very impressive, but we weren't really scared until the practice run. It was by far the worst run we had that day, with a total score of 125 points. It was only a practice run, but our robot judging was right after it. It seems our scoring was lower than it would've been if we had been judged at a different time, but there was nothing we could do. When we had to present our project, we gave the best presentation we did that season. The core values judging was also improving, since we were able to communicate how we recovered after we lost two members of our team. After that, we got 215 points on the first round, and 265 points on our second round. Our goal that season was to get a 300 point run, but something went wrong. The ball rack somehow didn't release the ball and we ended up getting a total score of 265. We still had hope at the ending ceremony, but our team was not called up. It was the only competition we didn't win anything at during the school year, but at least we had Legoland to look forward to.
