Eagle Rock Plaza
Eagle Rock Plaza is where our team competed for the first time. We went there believing we would do great, but not as we imagined. During our time there, we faced about six teams with different capabilities. We came out from this tournament with two awards: presentation (Project) and robot game award. On the day I arrived at the parking lot of Eagle Rock Plaza, I was filled with anxiety. I anxiously entered the mall seeing my team members already inside. Nervously, I walked around with my team members trying to get a glimpse of the whole tournament set up. As I explored the mall, more and more teams approached the mall. We were eventually called back to our table to get ready for robot game. I was chosen with my team member, Ricky, to be on the board. While being on the board, we met face to face with our challenger. When the timer started, Ricky and I desperately tried to focus on getting as many points as we can. Stressed to the stomach, me and Ricky eventually pulled off a decent run. As my teammates and I headed back to our table, we were soon to be notified that we would be on the board again. Not as stressed as before, Ricky and I practiced a few times feeling more comfortable. In the end of the robot game, we scored overall highest making us win the robot game award. Our scores were, respectively: 125, 230, 205, and 135. Afterwards, presentation was another stress factor for me and my team. We had no experience what so ever during the presentation. Though we still came out as winners! We were placed first giving us the best presentation award. Leaving Eagle Rock as winners drove me and my teammates to work hard throughout the season.
